This looks like it is going to be awesome. I had said before that I hope 2011 brings great movies because 2010 was a let down. But this movie and the other trailers I've been seeing prove my point that 2011 is going to be a great year in the film industry!!

I am really looking forward to this one. The story line is a bit different from the usual in my opinion. The stunts look crazy and overall it just looks exciting and action packed. This is a must see for me. I hope I'm not let down.

New Zodiac Sign? No Longer 12 Signs

Some of us know our zodiac signs. Some of us don’t. But if you thought you knew your sign before, maybe you’re wrong. If you were a Taurus, you might be an Aries now! Bummer!!! Apparently , Astronomer Parke Kunkle believes that a shift has occurred in the Earth’s alignment which has made it take a different direction in relation to the Sun. Due to this change, an additional 13^th sign has been added; Ophiuchus.

About 3000 years ago, the 12 zodiac signs were assigned based on 12 different periods of the year. But due to the shift, there are now 13 different periods, hence 13 zodiac signs. The new sign Ophiuchus is the ‘serpent bearer’ (a bit ominous in my opinion).

Thor Movie Trailer

Not much to say about this movie. It looks like its going to be a waste of time and a waste money. But hopefully it proves me wrong.

Some Differences in British and American English

I find it very interesting how British and US English can differ so at times. There are many words that people find confusing when they travel to the UK/US as they know it differently. What inspired me to do this post was a mix up with Emma Watson (Hermoine in Harry Potter). She is currently attending a school in the US and asked a fellow classmate for a rubber. Everyone started to look at her because a rubber in the US means condom.  While a rubber in the UK is what Americans call an eraser.  There are many differences in meanings like this.

My Acting Job: Kingston House

It all started about 3 months ago. I was on Facebook and I saw an ad for a new TV show called Kingston House. They were looking for characters to be in the pilot episode. Being me (a sucker for acting :) ) I went to their site, chose a character I was interested in and applied for the part. I received an email to audition the day after. When I went to the audition, I was a little nervous because I would definitely have competition.

But I got the part!! You couldn’t have known how happy I was. Anyway, I played a girl who loved dancing, fashion and very studious. Her name was Egypt (yep, the country). So I had to go to dance rehearsals and so on. Met some very nice people and gained a lot of new friends.

The shooting was even more exciting. Even though I had to stand in the sun for hours and do scenes over and over again, I loved every minute of it. I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. We worked for about 12 hours that day and at the end we felt really accomplished. I couldn’t wait to see the result!

Since it was a pilot, we weren’t sure if we would actually be shooting a series. But since they will be casting new characters soon, it’s safe to say a show will be born!! I’m really excited!

Even if you’re not much of an actor but a dancer, try anyway. I mean hey, I need dancers for my crew! :) They will be holding an audition on January 15, 2011. You might even see me!! I really look forward to working on this, learning more about the film industry and meeting new people. I intend to have fun no matter what, since that’s one of my New Year resolutions!!

Immortality

Immortality is a poem I wrote a year ago I think. I used to write a lot of poetry and stories when I was younger and then I don’t know, something happened and I stopped. I still used to dabble but never anything serious. So, ‘Immortality’ is a dabbling creation.

Since about a month ago, I have found my love for writing again and that’s why I even decided to have a blog. So, to start off, I am posting one of my old work. I can’t find almost all of my old poetry and stories, so I’m going to have to start from scratch. Anyway, please enjoy. J

I am a big fan of Transformers 1 & 2. I really hope this one doesn't come with a disappointment. Megan Fox I here is not in this one. A lot of people feel it won't be the same. All I can say is, lets see.

New Year, New Time, Re-invent Yourself

Happy New Year!! Its a new year now, 2011 and that means you have a great opportunity to re-invent yourself. As for me, I plan on changing a lot of things about myself. I know that sometimes people create a long list of new year resolutions and at the end of the year, they find that they haven't fulfilled even one from that list.

Well I don't intend to do that. I've been one of those persons for as long as I can remember but I choose to really re-invent myself. So, on the last day of December I really looked at myself (I've really been doing this for much longer) and I came up with a few things that I plan on doing this year 2011.

I hope that other have the same views and plan on doing something for themselves. For all the people who were told that they can't 2011 is YOUR year. For all the people who have failed and think they can't continue, 2011 is YOUR year. For all those who haven't even tried because of the fear of failure, 2011 is YOUR year.

So, that's what people should focus on this year, creating a better life for themselves regardless of fear, or lack of support, 2011 is YOUR year.
